Hip replacement
"in 2019 I needed a hip replacement and was in considerable pain, especially in my working day, and this was also a source of great anxiety, as I am a very nervous patient. As soon as I met Mr Killampalli, my confidence in the procedure grew. He said it was like an MOT, a replacement of a faulty part! He said that although I was very worried about the procedure, it was his job and the job of his hospital colleagues to take that worry from me. As I recovered from the general anaesthetic, he appeared at my bedside with the words: 'Smiling now!' I was fit to be sent home after two days. Mr Killampalli was on the ward every day including Saturday and Sunday, always smiling, charming and friendly. Thanks to him I am now back to playing tennis up to three times a week (aged 72) My scar is hardly noticeable. I bore everyone with how wonderful Mr K is!"

A life changer
"I had needed and new right hip for many years . In July 2021 I was given one in Hinchinbrooke Hospital by another surgeon . Sadly it failed . 3 dislocations and 3 resets in 11 days . The worst 11 days of my long life . Enter Mr Killimpalli. He was going to do the corrective surgery which was a complete new hip. Confident . Charming . He gave me faith the moment I first met him. New hip has now been in place for a couple of months . I am a completely new man. No pain . No limping . And definitely no more dislocations . This new hip of mine feels indestructible. A new life beckons for this old man and for the rest of my life I will be grateful to this wonderful man . Do you know he even started to sing as I was being operated on !

How re assuring was that

Thank you from the bottom of my heart Mr Killimpalli

Hip replacement
"As I waited for the hip replacement operation I deteriorated almost daily losing most of my mobility.
Everyday since the operation life has immensely improved. Mr Killampalli was wonderful. Reassuring, professional, giving me confidence and optimism even as I went into surgery. I feel almost lost for words to express how grateful I am to him and the splendid team at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. My recovery is proceeding well and every day say to myself “Mr Killampalli, what a marvellous man”.

Rebuilt my ankle
"In 2009 I fell in the snow and my ankle disintegrated. Mr. Killampalli was working at Hinchingbrooke then and first ensured my ankle was set in the correct position to avoid any lasting damage whilst it was too swollen When the swelling had finally reduced sufficiently to allow him to operate he rebuilt the smashed inside side of my ankle and supported it with a rod running up the outside of my leg.
I was non-weight bearing for four months and he removed the ironwork two years later.
I was recently examined for an unrelated foot issue and the mobility I have back in my ankle is virtually 100% - apparently my big toe could move better!
I have a friend who had a similar injury one year after mine at a different hospital and she continues to suffer is unable to wear stillettos and finds standing for long periods difficult. i have no mobility problems whatsoever.

Leg saved.
"I had a severe communited fracture of the peripatetic femur 4 years ago. The easiest choice would have been an amputation. This was the suggestion in the Emergency room at Hinchingbrook Fortunately I knew of him through my work at another hospital and requested to see him. He was not too optimistic as I have moderate osteoporosis. However he would endevour to save my leg Operation involved one core bone and others for support, plus a metal bar. He warned me that I might never walk again and would

always have a limp and would always need a stick.. After4 months grafts had taken and i started mobilising. No one at the hospital where I worked in a radiography unit thought I would recover and return to work. At final check 1 year later, I was tpainfree and without a limp And no walking stick. Superb Surgeon.
